It is with very mixed emotions that I write this final post for our trip.  You may have been following our   SPOT trail and have already seen that we crashed the boat in a section of rapids in Saranac NY.  We are both fine, no major injuries, just bumps and bruises.

I will over the next few days endeavor to write a more detailed story of how the trip ended, and post more photos from the very successful first days.

Many will ask why we did not buy another boat and continue, and I will probably ask myself that for many years to come, but at that moment and at this time, it feels like the right thing for various reasons.

In spite of the relatively short time, we have some great memories and met some really great people especially the volunteer fire and rescue crew in Saranac NY.  You could not ask for a better town to to be rescued in.  More on that in the story to come as well.

Not to be put off form such adventures, we will be setting out for a couple days of camping and paddling with friends in Maine in a week or so - fall off, and get right back on…

Thanks to all who supported us on this attempt - we have now determined to become section paddlers and will finish all remaining sections of the trail over the coming years.
