Time to bring this blog back to life

Well, if you were following this blog before, you will note that we did not go in 2013, but postponed one more year to 2014.

Although we did delay again, I think it will be for the best. We will now be leaving just after Ben's highschool graduation.   And, we have come to our senses and decided to do the trip in a canoe, not kayaks.

I sold 2 of my kayaks this year, and bought a beautiful Bell Kevlar canoe. What a dream this boat will be on portages. I can literally carry the boat in one arm. I have already taken the boat on two test rips including Flagstaff Lake in Maine. We encountered 20 knot winds and 3' white caps. So, we know how it handles n big water.

We will post some pre-trip planning notes and photos over the winter as we work out the details of our itinerary. I have learned a lot from the paddlers blogs, and of course the 2/3 of the tail that we have section paddled over the past 6 years has provided plenty of lessons as well.

I can't wait to get started on the trip plans, but befor we can focus on that, I have an 8 day trip planned in Nova Scotia throughout the Tobiatic Wilderness. Another good test of the boat and other gear.
